  0.56.0's entry counted its own work wrong, three times. Documentation only; no code
  changed, and the suite is unmoved at 1646.

  • Fifteen, not fourteen, in all three places. The 0.56.0 entry said fourteen
    definitions moved into mail/imap.py and fourteen settings were added to
    .env.example; both are fifteen. _select was omitted from the prose list of what
    moved, and CANVAS_COOKIE_SEED — added to the example file in the same release —
    was omitted from the settings count.
  • "236 lines of duplication are gone" was an estimate presented as a measurement,
    and it was not even the right shape: there is no single figure, because the two
    copies were not the same length. gmail/client.py lost 231 lines and
    icloudmail/client.py 205, and the one implementation that replaced them is 127
    lines of code. The entry now says that instead.

  A count written while the work is still moving is a guess with a number on it. All
  three of these were written into the changelog before the last edits landed and never
  re-measured against the finished diff — which is the same failure as the stale paragraph
  0.55.4 corrected, arriving in the entry that described the sweep rather than in the file
  the sweep was about. Count from git diff, after the commit is built.
